Pippin

Pippin is a 6 year old Border Collie cross and a successful agility dog. He had previously suffered from OCD (osteochondritis dessicans) where cartilage in his shoulder joint grew abnormally, but the news that he had chronic osteoarthritis as well was the final straw for his owner, Margaret Goulden. As Pippin was intolerant to many traditional medicines, the possibility of stem cell therapy was suggested and they decided to go for it. After just two stem cell joint injections, Pippin is "running around like a puppy" with a "new zest for life"! Although they have cut back on their agility competitions, they are whipping up a storm in Rally, Obedience and Hooping competitions and we love continuing to get updates from them on our Facebook page.

Nick

Donna Sangster, a receptionist at Aberdeen Veterinary Referrals, took Nick on at just 8 weeks old when he was brought in by his breeder with a broken leg. Nick had surgery to fix his leg and recovered quickly, as puppies do, but when he was one year old he was showing progressive elbow dysplasia. His options for treatment included surgeries to alter his elbow weight distribution, a partial elbow replacement or stem cell therapy. Donna opted for the minimally invasive stem cell therapy. Since his first injection he has been doing really well, his lameness is much improved and he loves nothing more than to run round in the woods.

Thomas

Unfortunately, because Thomas was intolerant to all the usual pain relief medications, his options were limited. Thomas had undergone two cruciate operations over the years and had a very poor knee joint. Stem cell injections were an ideal solution for Thomas and his owner, Ann Tomlinson, was delighted with the results. Although the knee joint is still enlarged, it is giving him considerably less discomfort.
